Or am I all wet and RCA sold all of their hard line
along with antennas to Dielectric?
I know that the later is true, but how does Prodelin figure
into all of this? Much of the early history is gone as this
provider has gone bankrupt a couple of times and the dogs picked up the
scraps and the early business is probably gone.
Much of the very early hard line was made by RCA Products Division, which
included their antenna lines. This was later spun off and became the
Prodelin Company. Prodelin is still in business as part of the General
Dynamics Gabriel, Prodelin, CSA/Jay Antennas line. Alsimag (American Lava)
in Chattanooga, TN. made those steatite insulators.
Mr. Andrew of Andrew Electronics also made some rigid transmission line
sections and furnished some of the early post WW 2 FM antenna bays.
They also used Alsimag components.
