WJJZ, 5kw DA-D, on Burlington Island in the Delaware River, north of
Philadelphia, was a messed up station from day one. I have pictures taken
in 1964 if anyone is interested. I remember getting a call from one of the
transmitter guys worried about the fluctuating antenna sample readings. It
turned out that a sample loop was twisting in the wind.

Then there was WRIZ, 1550khz, 10kw, DA-D, build on stilts in Biscayne Bay
several miles off-shore, south of Miami, FL. It ran exclusively on diesel
generator power. Like WJJZ, the engineer came and went by boat. Neither
station had remote control authorization.
