The original analog TV date was this year. It's been pushed to 2009.
I don't believe there was ever a date to turn analog off. 2012 was a
grossly hopeful estimated date. I don't believe it came from the FCC.
Many stations have no intention of going digital. This isn't like DTV
where the gummint can provide a $50 converter box. 2012 is 6 years
away and there aren't any portable/mobile receivers in production.
Remember, that's the kind of device that, allegedly, is killing us.
To make the Alice in Wonderland 2012 deadline we'll need receivers
that will sell as fast as iPods and satellite receivers. Actually, much faster.

Poor baby.

I believe he's right. It's really discouraging to have a monopoly
over which you have no control. Even with Jabba the HD and the HD
Dominion at the helm it strikes me as a half-hearted effort at a
rollout. The press releases have gone out. What little buzz for IBUZ
there wuz has stopped.
I'm disappointed, too. For different reasons.
