It bothers me that a little station "By the Kids and for the Kids" is being
stomped-on. The fact that it's the "Christian" organization playing the role of
"Goliath" in this case makes it all that much worse. I say, "Shame on them!"
It reminds me of the bully to rips the lolipop out of the little kid's mouth
to make him cry, then stomps the lolipop into the dirt and laughs. It's cruel.
I personally e-mailed Senators Kerry, Kennedy, and the Representative for
that district about that station's plight. I also e-mailed the organization doing
this, in an attempt to persuade them to drop it. It's *very bad* publicity,
and I think it would severely backfire on them, and I told them such. I got a
form letter back. Phooey on 'em. I really do hope they *lose* in Court. Give
the station back to the KIDS!
I am appalled at the allegations against the teacher who's been running the
station. If he did it, he deserves the maximum penalty. The station, however,
should not suffer for his stupidity. The station *belongs to the kids and to
the community*, not to the teacher.
If I understand correctly, they didn't act on the original CP for budgetary
and administrative reasons. (It was being run by the students for a time, as
there was no *active* adult supervisor. I suspect that was the time-frame when
they dropped the ball.)
