[BC] First Phone Licenses

I haven't had a ham ticket for decades. My decision was to have a hobby
that was not close to work. K0QXV 1957. And a French call F7FL when I was
in the army and France was still part of NATO. It was nice to have a
commanding officer that was a ham DXr of the first magnitude. We mounted an
expedition to Andorra, all with cleverly requisitioned military equipment.

I can still remember the time Captain Mitchell came in and fired up one of
the Collins 50 KW transmitters into CW mode to "work a few on 80 meters".
His partner in crime was the NCOIC in charge of the receiver site twenty
miles away.

Bob..if you're talking about the "suitable for framing" type license, I
don't believe they're available anymore. I have mine stashed away with other

memorabilia. A card is the only thing you might be able to get at this
point. If memory serves me, mine say First Class Radiotelephone License. I
also have the cancelled Second Phone. Well, at least I have those.
So send in your Wheaties Box top and a dollar and the FCC might send you
something. :)
