Back in 1965 when I went to USAF tech school (ABR29430) at Keesler
we were taught cycles, KC, MC etc. When I went back in 1966 after
instructor school we had to write our lesson plans in Hertz for Air Training
Command, After a couple of months, AF Security service, who took all our
graduates made us go back to cycles, six months later National Security
agency, who took the ELINT output from our people in the field, made us go
back to Hertz. We finally gave up and taught both ways (which we had been
doing anyway). To this day I still often speak of Cycles and Kilocycles,
although I seem to have gotten over Megacycles and Kilomegacycles.
