Yep. These people all seem to universally suck...
I had a phone interview back in December. At the end of the interview, the
hiring manager (who called ME, by the way) said; "I like what I've heard. I
definitely want to fly you here for an interview in a week or so. Can you do
that?"
"Sure" I said.
"Great. I'll be in touch next week"
At the end of the next week, I emailed him to see what was going on. He
replied in a day: "Been busy here. I'll call you in a day or so".
Then ten days of nothing, so last Friday I sent him an email again.
The reply came yesterday. It read: "Dana - sorry for my delay in responding.
We did find someone who seems to be a great fit for us. I do apologize for my
haphazard contact with you throughout the last several weeks. I will keep your
resume on file in the event things do not work out for us.".
I wonder if it ever occurred to this guy that I might have been an even BETTER
fit then they guy they hired?? Of course, they'll never know, will they?
I see it this way - and I was tempted to write the guy back with this message:
"Your loss, babe - count on it!"

Join the crew, Paul!!
I have been looking for engineering work, installs, tuneups, repairs, even
checked on the Big Radio conglomerates advertising for engineers on killer
schedules...no luck now for a long time.
Open to travel for a good job, or relocate. But would really prefer
contracting, installs, tuneups, repairs, etc., anywhere. But seems nobody
wants me anymore. *sob*
Beginning to look like with deregulation, and easing of the Rules, and the
conglomerates hiring one engineer for 5-10 stations, flipping burgers for
Japanese tourists is the only thing my License and experience is good for!!
But I do appreciate those who post openings. A couple of them even called
back...once!
