It's the one I had! Built it in fourth grade. I had the "newer" one that
doubled as an audio amplifier. I found that I could take an external
amplifier and drive the speaker output of the unit with the external
amplifier. Got more modulation and perhaps better sound.
I am so happy you posted this link. I guess I'll have to send you the
pictures of my home studio. I was 14 at the time and I actually built a
little tower with a flashing beacon on top. I lived in Sunset District in
San Francisco and the power lines went right past my little tower. Got some
help with those. Actually had a visit from the FCC. The field engineer spoke
to my dad first then they came upstairs. He was so impressed with my setup
he encouraged me to keep going but just reduce the length of the antenna. I
just moved my little tower out of sight and kept a going. I imagine he
witnessed some pretty sloppy setups. Mine was clean. Can we attach pictures
or do I have to send that to you at your email address?
