At one of the Michigan Assoc of Broadcasters conferences, I made the
statement that the main station I worked for, WCUZ, 101.3 in Grand
Rapids, MI had declared itself to be the first all digital FM station in
the US. Murmurs of approval wafted through the crowd. The session
speaker then asked me what digital stuff I had in the chain to make this
claim.

I made the statement that claiming to be digital had nothing to do
with what equipment was in the chain.

I went on: "As we know, digital is about being binary. One's and
Zero's. On or Off. And either my station is on the air, or off the air,
hence it is digital".

I was banned from those conferences for 5 years.

tom, hey it's only words, bosscher
