If Dave Hultsman on this list still has contact with Nestor Quesa, AFAIK
Sr. Quesa would be the only surviving TX engineer of the 1930 border
blasters who would know for sure.
I would be surprised to find much high-powered plate modulation on the
border in the 1930s.
Both Weldon and Bill Branch seemed to like linears for their high-powered PAs.
Although when XERF first went on after WW II, it used an RCA 50 E or F,
and an amplifuzz for the 250 kw. power increase, that allegedly was never
paid for..... The amplifuzz is said to be in pieces at the present 10 kw
site. The original site is now a run-down auto repair garage.
