[BC] Live Radio VS PodCast and Playlists

Hi all,
something has been on my mind.
With the explosion of MP3 downloads, PodCast and playlist radio, some are
predicting the end of live music radio. I disagree! The forgotten art of
live music radio isn't just about how many crappy sounding MP3 songs the
listener has at their fingertips. Traditional music radio was an art form
with a live DJ and program director taking listeners on a shared musical
journey. It is also about personality. I don't mean the used car selling
DJ's who pollute commercial radio today. I mean the good college radio DJ
that you tune in on regular basis because they're amusing and feel like a
"friend" sharing music with you. It's crazy this model's deemed no longer
"viable" on broadcast radio. No canned form of music serving service can
generate this sense of user intimacy.
