no, it was worse than that. it was something that wouldn't be allowed on
the market today.
The chassis consisted of a single piece of stamped steel in the shape of an
upside down U with flanges on the ends. It was a U when viewed from the
sides. i.e. there were front and rear panels, with the tubes on top, but no
bottom and no sides. so the components and 120 v. were all exposed
underneith.
no company would ever sell this thing to kids today in a million years.
