I've been waiting for this.

My ham radio buddies and I have discussed how easy it would be to mess
with these items. The triggering transmitters are usually micro or
milliwatts in power. So I sit outside in my parking lot with a 100 watt
rig and a beam, I think I could cause problems.
Unless the RF ID tag has a very high security item like a rolling number
sequencer, they should be very easy to clone. Then again, my 1997 Buick
Park Avenue has a feature where you just hold your existing garage door
opener by it and it remembers the sequence. The manual claims it works
with the rolling number high security systems also. I've always wondered
about pulling this unit, and putting in a reasonably quality receiver,
where one could now park 500 feet away and get the garage door opener code.
My wife and her daughter are dog breeders (Newfoundlands, great
dog....Great BIG dog!), and the dog industry has had RF ID chips around
for quite a while. I've always wondered when those would go to into humans.
If I worked at "CityWatcher", I would rather quit and work the McDonalds
drive through. Or stay and have fun cloning my ID!
