That is a most accurate assessment of the situation. His door to door
"investigation of radio advertisers" in which the (armed) county
constable appears as a "show of force" and asks who is spending how much
with the local radio station and then hands them the memo (on EDC
letterhead) advising that "all debts to the local radio station are
payable to Mr. David Rushing" are pretty darn convincing!

And extremely generous (IMHO) to boot! Neither you, nor I, nor the US
Government will EVER convince him otherwise. I was totally dumbfounded
when I watched both Mr. Rushing as well as the (former) DA who is now a
prison-cell occupant testify to a jury that the CERTIFIED copy of my
station license was "a known forgery" and the judge allowed the DA to
instruct the jury to IGNORE IT as "a known forgery".
What can you do when the people with whom you are dealing know more
about your field of expertise than you know, yourself?
Of course, their "expert witness" (filed A transfer application in
1979, according to his testimony) who testified that "a broadcast
license CAN NOT be transferred by filing an online application via
computer" didn't help any. But... He was the "expert"...

So, give him a reason! He's currently suing me for preventing his
operation of an (unlicensed and non-existent) FM station. The taxpayers
are footing the bill since he's a representative of a city government
so, I'm sure he would like to add you to the list. His suit against me
is asking for $250k PLUS the right to "put Mr. Rushing's KRMN back on
the air without interference from the new station that has seized his
spot on the dial without any authorization of the Great State of Texas"
or some such nonsense. (Honest! I *did* look for the "Texas
Communications Commission"! Really, I did!)
I'm sure he'd even like to go after Powell for that noxious cloud he
left behind following his last "burrito encounter". ;-)
