FINALLY! The demise of the XLR as an equipment connector. I've hated
wiring those for nearly 50 years since they replaced the old Cannon
P connectors.

IMHO it is OK as a mike connector, but on equipment? In the best of
all possible worlds I'd like to see a Phoenix connector on a back
chassis skirt, but it there is not room for that, an RJ-45 with a
dongle goes in much faster than 4 XLR's. Nothing says you MUST USE
the dongle. <g>
