I know I'm very late on this thread but I'm guessing this tower painter
probably doesn't have any insurance that would cover collateral damage to
parked cars, other structures, people and the like.

The biggest thing is that he probably also had no workers comp either.  He
probably had a no coverage policy which exempted everyone on his staff as
