The last place I built that used carts, we also built the console, which
was computer controlled. Usually three carts were dedicated to music and
three to commercials. There were separate processing chains for each.
The console had the ability to switch all 6 machnies to either all
commercials or all music. When someone needed a break, they switched all
6 carts to music, loaded up some long songs and let the board run
itself. You could sneak away for 1/2 hour if the format allowed.
