It is amazing that the species propagates ...

I did most of the computer builds, cleanups and rebuilds at X-Star. Our
membership database girl, Margie, never had a problem. Then, her previous
job had been on-site software rollout/installation. True to form, and I
have dear friends who worked in those departments, sales and news seemed to
collect malware and viruses (caught in quarantine) like gnats on a ripe banana.

In the worst instances, I'd install a second partition and load the OS and
apps. Then run virus/malware software to cleanup the original, inactive
partition. The machine was set to boot into this new partition, favorites,
'my directory', the desktop, and so on were copied over, but the original
files were all still there in sanitary condition.

By doing this I avoided the risk of missing some odd spot needed user files
were stored like 'System32', heaven knows why.

Now, I certainly do not know everything. A long as we had our ENCO system
based on Novell servers, I wondered what it was with the mapped Y: and Z:
drives that mysteriously showed up in the drive mappings. Where did they
come from as they were the SYS: drives mapped elsewhere. Refurbishing the
server system for their new home, I found out in the Novell documentation.
They are 'search' (default) drives mapped by the Novell login script.
Netware starts BACKWARDS through the alphabet when mapping search drives!
AhHa! Eureka!
