Paul,
I get that all the time. I have found that these folks find your
number in the phone book and call you and are not listeners of the
station.

Subject: Ditzy radio listeners (Re: [BC] TV news)
I've dealt with stupidity, but on the side of radio listeners.
I once had a lady call at 9pm at night, looking for the number to that
"102.1 FM radio station in Sardis". This is while i was at WQMA, a
DAYTIMER. When
i gave her the number and address, she said, "Oh, isn't it in that other
town". Licensed to Sardis, but in nearby Senatobia.
The one time.. around 12midnight.. i got a phone call at WQMA and being
the
nice person, i answered it since it was a local number. The lady wanted
me to
help her idenity a song. After about 2 or 3 minutes of going ack n forth
and
figuring out what genre of music it was and etc, i asked "Where did you
hear
this song?" and she replied, "Oh, it's on 93.7 FM right now"
Another time.. I got a call around 9pm asking me to play a song.. over 2
hours after we signed off. After another go around with this perosn, I
figured
out it was a gospel song and told her to call back between 7/10am
Weekdays or
7am/12noon Sunday and theyd play her song. Guess who called back 2
nights
later? You guessed it... same lady.
Keep in mind.. all these calls came well after WQMA had signed off!
