It is actually quite useful. I like to practice dead stick landings. I will
relieve myself just prior to turning base leg, hit the switch which cuts
the engine and then glide to a landing from there. Why, you ask? I am
practicing proficiency in this maneuver to demonstrate to NASA as
I have ambitions to be a Space Shuttle commander. These are landed
dead stick. The only time there would be a problem is if I had to do a
go-around....
