Wow...I'd love to hear them! Why in the world would a pirate fire up on
1500 after your sign off. Did he have some beef against your station?
That makes no sense to me! I'm with you, it would be a funny joke at
all.

Scott

I'll gladly contribute MP3's of our sign-on and off carts! Both the
early
ones (1982-1989) and the current ones. I think I might even still have
the
"Anti-Pirate" sign-off that we had to use from 1989-1993/4. Not sure on
that one,
tho.

For those who are curious: Our "Anti-Pirate" sign-off cart went
something
like this:

"FCC Rules require us to discontinue broadcasting at this time. Please
tune
in again tomorrow morning at sunrise. This is WFIF, Milford,
signing-off. Good
night, and God bless you."
(Music trails a few seconds. 1 second silence, then 60 sec of 100%
modulation
white noise.)

It gave me plenty of time to run upstairs and poise my fingers on the
Plates
switch. After the noise stopped, I dropped carrier.

The pirate activity only stopped after we had won a Civil Suit against
the
guy, and the Judge's orders were carried out.

Willie...
