Dr Thos Goldsmith, DuMont's
chief engineer back in '46, is alive and active in Washington State!
WTTG's call comes from Goldsmith's initials - and has remainded on the
station continuously for the past 60 years. That, in itself, must be
a record or nearly one.

***************************

Was Dr. Thomas Goldsmith later a professor in a North Carolina or South
Carolina University.

At one time Ron Baker of CCA in Atlanta and I sponsered and engineering
dinner at the GAB Convention and a gentlemen spoke regarding the early day of
television with Dumont and how they pioneered much of the television technical
and programming with the third TV network at the time.

He exuded so much excitment in his speaking of the work they did made the
history very interesting. If it is the smae what a great and inspirational
speaker.
