[BC] Saving History

Well, as regular list readers know, the whole
reason oldradio.com got started, was as a way to
preserve the history of the industry.

The project has become rather extended over the
years. In addition to station histories (with a
lot of help from Xen Scott and others), we have
added some pictures of the transmitters and
studio gear over the years. In the past few
years, we've been gathering a number of manuals
... both for the pictures, and for those folks
still trying to maintain/repair gear where the
manuals have "disappeared." Harold Hallikainen
has been a major factor in scanning these
manuals, and some of the manufacturers have been
real helpful in posting their materials.

There is a lot left to be done. I'm sure if you
spend more than a few minutes on oldradio.com,
you will find at least one picture that you wish we had.

Maybe you can help??????

There are a lot of older transmitters and
consoles out there, and we'd love to have you
take a minute and share a picture or two.

EVEN MORE IMPORTANT: IF your station has a
printed history, perhaps a book issued to
commemorate the 50th 75th or some other
anniversary ... or even a newspaper article with
the history in your files, PLEASE send me a copy!

There is more and more history disappearing with
every consolidation and buildout. But if you
would just take a moment, you can be part of
saving some history that might help someone.

thanks in advance.
