Like someone else said... it's Pavlovian. It becomes a conditioned response.
In the rare instances when I'm listening to another radio station (like when
I'm out of the area, etc.) dead air *immediately* tweaks my ears... I turn up
the volume a little, and I'm like... "Hello...? Hellllloooo...."
I do almost the same thing here, while I'm slamming the "emergency music"
cart into the slot, while a certain live program isn't there when it's supposed
to be... grumble...
Willie...
