Heh, heh, BY DEFINITION, the so-called AM band is 
The Standard Broadcast Band. So there! ;-p 

"Back in the day" the "AM" band was called the 
Standard Broadcast band in **Part 3** of the rules 
in almost all sections. In those days the "FM"
rules were the ones "in the back of the book"
IOW Sec. 3.200 and above.

Today, if you read carefully, you may find the 
words still used where rules haven't been 
rewritten to any great extent. :)
