And 1340 WEXL Royal Oak, MI is the only DA that I know of on a
graveyard freq.
There are still at least three directional Class C AM's that I am aware of.
In addition to WEXL, the others are WLEW - Bad Axe, Michigan and WOYL - Oil
City, Pennsylvania. All three of these operate on 1340 kHz and are directional
during daytime hours and nondirectional at night. WINK in Fort Myers was
formerly directional during daytime hours, but was converted to nondirectional 15
or 20 years ago. I believe that WLVL (also on 1340) in Lockport, New York
also used to operate directionally but was modified to nondirectional at some
time in the past. Directional Class C's are a dying breed, as the FCC won't
authorize them any more.
