[BC] Changing channels

Paul,
I wanted to move from 1560 to 1400. I was told that was a Major
Change by my attorney. I find that a stupid rule. This comment is
coming I guess from my heart, sort of unrelated, but the FCC needs to
revisit all of Part 73, AM rules. Lots of them (in my opinion) are very
outdated! Why are we following rules written in 1934!

Yeah Scott, a move to a Class C Graveyarder would be a minor change
as you could only move from 1530 to 1590 and it e considered a minor
change.

I thought to change frequency on AM, no matter if it's up or down one
channel; this was consider a Major Change. I looked in to this several
years ago, and that's what my attorney told me. I found that I could
move my station (a daytimer) to a (Class C) local channel in this area,
I would have to go down to 250 watts daytime, and I would end up with
250 around the clock. But I was told it was a major change and too much
riff/raff to go through.
