Don Leslie had his shop in Pasadena, not far from where the Rose Parade
takes place. The speaker cabinet supplied by Hammond with their original
B-1 and C-1 really sounded dead. He came up with the rotating horns on
the top and rotating drum that gave the two speakers their vibrato. The
field coil in the bottom speaker was used as a filter choak for the
power supply in both the organ and speaker amplifer. Interesting
arrangement. Later, other model Leslies were used on guitars and other
instruments for a similar effect.
