I've enjoyed WinAmp for years. I bought it back when it was still a $10
shareware! All-too-often, I have discovered that a lot of shareware is not worth
the price they're asking, and I get rid of it long before the trial even runs
out. The exceptions to this were Cool Edit and Winamp. Now we have OSS, and they
are coming up with some really good stuff... and it's *free*!

I'm curious about this, and would like more info.

LOL! Good one! I haven't thought of that movie in a long time. It was the
first word that came to my mind as I was restoring all of those settings that it
had forced itself into. Grrrrr. Although extensive, at least the damage was
fairly easily reversible. (Sounds a lot like a line from a TOS Star Trek
episode!)
