I don't know that Westinghouse invested the most CASH into WOWO - 
certainly you couldn't prove it by the W. Wayne facilities, which I only 
saw a couple of times myself - but WOWO served an important function 
within the company nonetheless. Much as KQV did for ABC in its 
Musicradio era, or KMOX did for CBS for many years, WOWO was the 
smaller-market proving ground for talent and programming concepts that 
would later be put to use at the big guns (KDKA, WBZ, etc.)

It warms my heart to see WOWO still using the "Westinghouse font," 
albeit slightly butchered, in its logo, long after WINS, KFWB and my own 
Group W alma mater, WBZ, changed logos.

s, who still has the studio sign from WBZ's Westinghouse days on the 
wall of his office, and the "W" from the building sign outside in his 
attic...
