"Rio" forced the only two non-conforming Class I-As, the 1540 in the
Bahamas, and the 1580 in Chicoutimi, Quebec, Canada, to upgrade to 50 kW
full-time.
Both installed DAs, and operated DA-1.
The Chicoutimi station subsequently moved to Ontario and was privatized.
"Rio" also forced stations which were not Class Is, yet were operating in
excess of 50 kW to reduce power to 50 kW.
Therefore, the one Class II-B which was operating 100/50 kW ND-U is now
operating 50 kW ND-U.
Finally, "Rio" allows Class As to operate 100 kW days, regardless of
their former notified power.
Mexico has three Class As (former Class I-Bs) which are 100/10 kW (one
may be 20 kW nights), and are grandfathered at their former night power.
Mexico also has two Class As (also former Class I-Bs) which were 50 kW
DA-N, but are now 100/50 kW DA-N.
