I have a wide band AM stereo receiver in one of my trucks.  It sounds 
great!  That being said, I have not had ANY troubles with IBOC hiss 
on the HD channels.  Yes I have been listening for it as well.

ON a side note, thank you to WGN for playing some classical late 
Friday night on Extension 7-20.  Sounded so good on AM!

OK how many "instances"?  ONE?  You will have more true power line 
noise reports than you would IBOC reports.  Should that make power 
companies illegal?
