As far as I know, the 2010 was one of the best portables for DX- however
(and I know I'm going to attract lightning with this) I couldn't stand the 
chuffing
while tuning and the audio quality. I ended up selling mine. Even with the 
wide bw in AM, it sounded poor to me with
that speaker and I much prefer listening to a 7600 even if it isn't quite as 
sensitive.
I know- I'm wacky.

I have an SR 1 that I lent out a couple of years ago and need to get back. 
It has a bunch of noise
in it-probably a bad FET, but would be fun to fix. In the past I had an SR3 
that I bought about 1996-
horrible horrible  FM. Needed serious retuning but that was before those 
nice website devoted to such things.
The AM was pretty good though.

A friend of mine JUST got one of the Digital SR's
from Ebay. It doesn't have any hash but beats any
other radio he has for sensitivity, including the Sony
ICF-2010, but the 2010 will TRULY DX compared to the
GE.
