I wished they would! That would make life easier for all of us and one
less thing for small "one man" operators to worry about. Some will grip
because of "job security" in a corporate environment, or they contact to
help keep up a stations file, if the rule is changed or done away with.

The FCC is about to eliminate the public file requirement.

I think most of us simply take that fact for granted. The licensee is
often nowhere near and the GM becomes responsible by default. As in
"it's default of the GM that we got that fine."
