To the group:

How many of you, (excluding the big Class A stations) that take care
of stand alone AM's, have or use a modulation monitor? In a previous
conversation with Dennis at KKTY on this list, he made mention he
doesn't use one. He relies on his Orban 9300 to take care of not over
modulating.
My Armstrong, X-1000B, AM Transmitter is set where it will not
exceed 90% in negative peaks. Positive peaks can be set with my Omnia 3,
and if you set the positive peaks at 125%, that's what it will do, no
its ands or buts with the Omnia 3.
I know the BE boxes have a little audio/modulation meter on them
built in and that's cool. I've seen some small AM's with newer
transmitters and processors, using no mod monitors, since they are no
longer required. I have a pocket fluke scope, if I really need to see
modulation.
I figured since modulation monitors are no longer required, that may
the reason I can't sell my Inovonics 520 mod monitor!
