Phil, I seriously think you're dead wrong about that.

Consumer electronics companies (and car manufacturers) tend to be very 
sanguine about such things.  The sausage machines of which you speak won't 
get cranked up unless a strong demand for the product is evident.  The way 
things are shaping up, there is little indication of that happening.

Chicken and egg, remember?
