I agree - in some parts of the country, rates are decent. A friend of mine
works in a 60ish market and gets $75-85 an hour too.
BUT you have to admit that the rates in Boston are pathetic!!

I can't afford to stay here any more - and I've lived here most of my life.

FWIW, my standard rate is $85/hr, but like Craig, I will discount
10-15% for good clients or in special circumstances.  As always, it's
a matter of supply and demand -- some contractors in this area get
$90/hr.
