I charge $105.00/HR in KY. That does NOT include drivetime or
shoot-the-bull time. Only the time actually spent doing something useful,
usually with the client present. We may fix something vital that takes
twenty minutes and Jaw for three hours. (Bills 4/10th hour.)
Stop and think for a second, now. What did you have to do forty years ago
to keep a tube box on the air or worn-out cart machines playing with
crystal-clear highs nobody on AM even dares to transmit these days?
Equipment is far more reliable and trouble free.
How long has it been since you actually found an exciter OFF frequency?
Hum tube in a microphone preamp? How often does a client REALLY need an
engineer?
I'll bet my 10 year old daughter can do better work than some messes I've
seen in facilities and had to straighten out. We must strive for
professionalism.
Now where's my coffee?
