[BC] Making engineering pay - Age Discrimination

Actually, engineers are increasingly expected to do it all. IT, studios, AM
& FM transmitters, automation, STL's, and even reprogramming the GM's
Blackberry. There are many things that can get you up in the middle of the
night besides transmitters, but the more you know about all of these things
the more value you'll have.

Well, as Solid State Rigs become more stable, waking up in the middle of
the night will become less and less

problem is that there is no incentive for any younger guys to bother
learning it when there are IT gigs around that are paying 2-3 times more
then what say an AM CE would be making; with far less wake up calls in
the
middle of the night.
