[BC] We do it because we can, not because it is right

I agree totally. You know, we spend a lot of time bemoaning the fact
that radio, as we know it, is getting ready to roll over and die because
the content is failing. Well, we only have to look at local TV news to
see something very similar. I'm sure we can draw hundreds of analogies
about ownership and control and strict adherence to the bottom line. The
truth is that TV news, relying heavily on research, has tried, and been
successful at, emulating the days of yellow journalism from the good old
days of print. If I see one more cute little reporterette stick a mic in
the face of mother who just lost her kid and ask the ubiquitous "HOW DO
YOU FEEL" question, I'm gonna ...... well you know.
And like radio and IBOC, I understand that HDTV digital TV will cure all
of this and folks will be returning to local TV in droves. Think how
much blood and guts and pain and misery you can cram on to that big
screen. And the sirens and crying mothers will sound so much better with
the 5.1 surround sound. I can't stinkin' wait.
