I work in some pretty snotty places where the meth heads have become a
problem. And there is the transmitter site where the nutcase always shows
up to badger me about all the things that have gone wrong in his life
because of "lectricity" in his brain. "Chuck, I know everything 'bout
lectricity".
And yes I travel quite heavily armed: Nighthawk custom .45 and Remington 870
shotgun, the former for people, the later for bears and moose.
I have decided that any remote work I do is going to be prefaced by a call
to the Alaska State Trooper local post or the local police informing them of
my presence.

Subject: [BC] Cell Tech, killed by police at tower site
CELL SITE WORKER SHOT AT NIGHT BY POLICE DIES ON THE JOB
A respected family man working after midnight at a cellular tower site
in a "rough" part of Charlotte, North Carolina was shot and killed after
police responded to a suspicious person call. Telecommunications site
technician Anthony Wayne Furr reportedly pointed a handgun and advanced
toward a police officer, and in response the officer opened fire.
Engineers who work late at night at communications sites may wish to
study this case carefully. Could equipment or air conditioning noise
have masked the commands from police? Read more at the URL below, or
google "Wayne Furr" for more links yet. A tragic case in any event.
