[BC] Remote damage

Budgets do NOT change the Laws of Physics! The gray
duct tape has a high outer skin resistance which will act
as a high value resistor in parallel with the coaxial cable
upon which it is wrapped. This will cause disruption of the
RF electron current flow in the outer conductor. More
loss, high VSWR.

The Monster Duct Tape (black color) has properties of
low resistance which acts as a larger outer conductor.
Remember that skin effect is in play here. The color is also
important as it absorbs sunrays (as does the coax) whereas
the gray reflects sunlight.

Penny wise, pound foolish! How much money was earned on
that remote? How much would have been saved if the proper
duct tape was used in the repair? How much would have been
saved on doing a proper repair versus coax and connector
replacement?
