I agree completely, but the critical decision was the First 
Report and Order. After that, it was all over but the shouting.

There will be a few. There will be more who can't make it work
no matter what they do, and there will be those who can't afford
the cost of transition.

The few won't hold out when it begins pinching their income.
Those who can't make it work will yell loud and long for
full digital which will work. Those who can't afford to be
in business through bad management or dying markets will 
generally, I think, go dark or be sold to someone with money
and a dream.

Analog can stay forever, but it will self-sunset when drowned
out as digital becomes important and power is increased. That
can't happen? IBOC couldn't happen either, but ....
