Yep.

The old 1060 here in Boston got one of the first AM Optimods. They hooked it
up to their BC-1G and sounded loud and great  - for about 48 hours.

Then the modulation xmfr went away...

Don't crank up the low end on those old boxes. I learned my lesson by
overheating and blowing a mod transformer because I cranked up the bass
to hard, in order to please the PD of a station I was doing contract
work for. The format of that station was R-n-B/Rap. Those old boxes hate
Rap music all together!

Ah, yes. There is that warning in the manual for the AM Optimods.

Those old boxes were not designed for 100% duty cycle at 150%
square wave. <ggg>
