I think most of the time the abruptness is due to a lack of time and getting to the point. Many of us may want to
respond but just don't have the time to be wordy. (I've been accused of being too wordy at times) So, the replies
may seem short and perhaps abrupt, but I think it is just a way of responding quickly with the fewest words.
