"In 1990 we moved into our new building, which was custom built to house the
station and is quite unique in its construction, designed to replicate an
antique Phillips Radio, complete with brass logo. It is believed to be the only
building of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, possibly the world."
That is fascinating! That's even better than the art deco designs we were
discussing (and lamenting the demise of) just recently. Sadly, I suspect that
such a beautiful building would become a target for vandalism. I just cannot
comprehend that mindset... sigh... I suppose that there are plenty of
neighborhoods where it would be safe, but all too many where it would not. What a world.
If I had the $$$ and my own station, I'd love to do something like that for
the studio/office building! Build it somewhere in view of a major highway, with
a billboard nearby, indicating the station's frequency... the curiosity
factor alone should get people to at least *sample* the station. :)
Willie...
