I'm thinking of dropping Vonage, too. I don't use my landline phone 
much so I wanted to lower my service to the $14 level. They want $9 
to make the change. On general principle I'll cancel first. I have a 
constant hiss on the line and it's sensitive to upload speeds. I 
can't use FAX without forcing my modem down to 9600. Charter Cable 
data rates are all over the road, so they're not a good combination. 
I'll make the change once everyone has my new number, since there's 
no "this number has been changed" recording.
