Even better, show 'em a 4-1000a! I've shown those to visitors over the
years, and the eye-popping effect is almost always the same.

True. But offer that choice to hams, and they'd be much more likely to take
the ol' tube beast! It's a whole lot easier to move them up to 160 or 75
meters. Couldn't do that very easily with a SS rig! (Although some
hams have built
some really impressive SS AM rigs!) IMHO, when designed properly, for HAM AM,
nothing beats the ol' firebottles. (Some guys like to really push the
envelope... no pun intended.) For B'cast, nothing beats the SS stuff.
