[BC] New SDR- Star Treks' Tricorder?

I remember sitting in the Electronic Countermeasures shop at Whiteman AFB, 
MO., in 1961 (when we still had vibrator powered tube car radios) and 
predicting that someday we'd have a little handheld box that would do almost 
everything.

With this technology it seems we're getting close.  Today it wouldn't be too 
hard to merge a handheld computer, cell phone, walkman TV/radio, calculator, 
camera/camcorder, cd/tape player, ipod etc into one unit.
