[BC] tube sound (tube transmitters)

For a full time 1 kW AM station (even a low power one running their main TX
all night), the savings in electricity at current rates more then covers the
lease payments for a SS transmitter.
Unless you believe that electric rates are going to take a dive, this is the
way to go...

Lets see... old tube transmitter running fine.... New SS transmitter
thousands of dollars. AM station barely covering its electrical
bills...... Me thinks a tube transmitter will do just fine thank you.
You may be surprised how many tube transmitters are out there! Yes yes
I am aware of the efficiency of a SS versus a tube rig.

If tubes are for hobbyists, then why are the likes of Continental coming
out with brand new HD FM transmitters with tubes (which I just took
receipt of two of them)?
